Your hair brushes should get equal amount of TLC as your makeup brushes. What’s the point of having clean hair if it’s only going to get dirty again once that hairbrush loaded with bacteria touches those beautiful locks.
There are a few ways to clean a hair brush however each method starts the same by using a rat-tail comb to get rid of any hair on the brush first.
Using alcohol is the easiest and quickest way to clean hair brushes. All that’s needed is of course Qtip, rat tail comb and alcohol. After removing any fall out hairs on the brushes using a Qtip drenched in alcohol begin to sanitize the surface of the brush as well as the bristles. It’s the simplest way to clean your hair brushes.
Note; You can even also use hand sanitizer in a pinch!
Once a month or at least every three weeks cleaning hairbrushes with shampoo really gets rid of all the dirt, oil and hair product build up on the base and teeth of the brush. Swirl the head of the brush in very warm water. Next, using a tooth brush with shampoo begin to brush the base and bristles of the hairbrush. Rinse with water and let it dry.
Using a solution of baking soda and water submerge the hair brush until all the brittles are covered in the mixture. Let it soak for about 30-60 minutes then rinse very well in hot water. That’s it!
